Debra Fine has been appointed a Trustee for the Committee of Economic Development (CED) in Washington DC. She is on two subcommittees.
Sustainable Conscious Capitalism
The first subcommittee that Ms. Fine serves on is for Sustainable Capitalism. This committee focuses on companies and organizations working together to promote a healthy nation where companies are held accountable for how they conduct their manufacturing, hiring and giving back to their communities.
The second subcommittee is education. This committee focuses on the quality and availability of superior educational programs being made available to all potential students.
Ms. Fine’s work with at-risk youth in Los Angeles through I Have a Dream Foundation – Los Angeles is synergistic with the goals of both of these CED committees.
The Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board (CED)
The Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board (CED) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, business-led public policy organization that delivers well-researched analysis and reasoned solutions to our nation’s most critical issues.
Today, U.S. companies face unprecedented competition from abroad and an economy that puts a growing premium on knowledge. To succeed, employers must make a stronger commitment to ensure that employees are prepared and afforded the opportunity to learn key skill sets through higher education and training.
